Gimhae Nakdong River Rail Park (wine cave · rail bike)

A park opened in 2016 on a disused stretch of the old Gyeongjeon railway line. The 485 m Saengnim Tunnel has become a wine cave where wine made from raspberries, a Gimhae specialty, is aged and tasted, and rail bikes run a 3 km round trip over the old railway bridge across the Nakdong River. The wine tasting is included; entry to the wine cave and the rail bike ride are optional and paid for on site.

Yeongnamnu Pavilion

A pavilion on a cliff above the Miryang River, counted among the three great pavilions of Korea along with Chokseongnu in Jinju and Bubyeongnu in Pyongyang. It was first built in 1365, late in the Goryeo dynasty, on the site of a Silla-era temple; the present building dates from 1844. It was designated a National Treasure in 2023. From its floor the river and the city open out below you.

Miryang Arirang Market and lunch

A traditional market in the middle of Miryang. It is named after Miryang Arirang, one of the three best-known versions of Korea's folk song Arirang, along with those of Jeongseon and Jindo; Arirang was inscribed on UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2012. After walking the market with your guide, you have a lunch of local food at a restaurant inside (lunch is at your own expense).

About 30 minutes

Wiyangji Pond

A reservoir built in the Silla period to water the fields. Its name means 'for the good of the people', and it is one of the Eight Views of Miryang. On an island in the pond stands Wanjaejeong, a pavilion built in 1900, and in May photographers gather for the white fringe-tree blossoms reflected in the water. You walk the wooded path around the pond.
